ZAFU & Meditation Bench

As a word, "zafu" means a seat made out of cattails.The origins of the Japanese zafu came from China where these meditation seats were originally made out of cattail. Today, that is no longer the case in Japan or China.

Our zafu is a round traditional meditation cushion with pleated sides. The cover is made of a heavy duty fabric. We hand stuff our zafus with buckwheat hulls or natural kapok so that they will not collapse after a few sittings. All our zafus are double-stitched for extra strength and come with a carrying handle

Meditation Bench

A meditation bench provides a
simple and comfortable way to sit for
meditation because the angle of the bench
allows you to sit easily with your spine
straight, yet relaxed. Each of our benches is
handmade from the finest hardwoods,
padded with cotton batting and a layer of
foam, and covered with a variety of beautiful
cotton or raw silk fabrics. Meditation
benches are a comfortable alternative to
meditation pillows.
